Prof. Vishnu Bhat, Vice Principal of the college in his presidential address said, “A women has right to education and also has right to stand for her justice. A programme like this will help the women to be aware of her rights.”
The Resource Person of the session Rev. Fr Francis Assisi Almeida (LL.M), Parish Priest, Sacred Heart Church, Mareel spoke about the need for women to be aware of the human rights and also to protect it. He said, “The Indian Constitution has endowed all the human rights required by an individual which are equally given to men and women without any discrimination. Therefore no one is superior or inferior but everyone is equal.”
He added, “Women is an important sector of the society and she should be treated with dignity.”
The Director of the Women Empowerment Cell Prof. Venkateshwari K.S. and the Director of Women Harassment Cell Prof. Premalatha were also present.
