One day training workshop for the consumer club coordinating High School teachers of Puttur, Belthangady and Sullia Taluk was organized by DK District Federation of Consumer Organisations in association with Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College at Spandana Seminar Hall of the College on July 20, 2015. Inaugurator of the Programme Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal, said, ‘Consumer education enables individuals to develop the ability to become critical consumers. This will lead to social and economic development of the nation.’
The chief guest Mr. Udayashankar, Education Coordinator of Puttur Taluk said, ‘Consumers must give equal importance to their rights and duties. If the seller is passive in providing good service, consumers have to contact the customer care number.’
Mr. Edwin D’Mello, Vice President of the Federation presided over the function. Ms. Sahana Rao sang the consumer song. Mr. Vishnu P Nayak, Secretary of the Federation welcomed the gathering. Prof. Dinakara Rao, Direrctor of Suraksha Consumer Forum of the College compered the programme. Mr. Vishnu P Nayak, Mr. Venkatesh K and Mr. Rayi Raj Kumar were the resource persons for the workshop.
