Prathibha Day Celebration

Prathiba DayAs a part of Annual Celebration of St Philomena College, Puttur ‘Prathibha Day’ was organized on 24-2-2015 at the College Quadrangle.

The Chief Guest of the function Dr. N. A. Jnanesh, Principal of KVG College of Engineering, Sullia while addressing the gathering said, “There is a lot of contradiction in our education system and there is an urgent need to solve such problem and make education more meaningful. The so called ‘Educated People’ should behave in a more humanitarian way so that youth could be guided properly. “

Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General, Diocese of Mangalore and Vice President, CBE, Mangaluru in his Presidential address said, “There should be equality, harmony and co-existence in the society and the teachers should work towards achieving it.”

Students who secured ranks in the University exam and those who performed well in extracurricular activities were honoured.

The Guests of Honour were Very Rev. Alfred J. Pinto, Correspondent, St Philomena College and Rev. Fr Vijay Lobo, Principal of St Philomena PU College, Puttur, Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Chairman of P.G Studies, Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal of the College, the President of Parent Teacher Association Mr. Ganesh Rao, the President of Alumni Association Mr. Jaya Kumar Rai were also present.

Mr. Shrinivas S. Tamboli, President of Students’ Council welcomed the gathering. Ms. Radhika Suresh, Joint secretary of Students’ Council proposed the vote of thanks.
