The P.G. Dept of Social Work of St Philomena College Puttur will organize a National Seminar PHILOSEM-2015 on the theme “Banking on the Youth for Development: Opportunities and Challenges” on February 3, 2015.
This mega event will be inaugurated by Shri Bhagavan Das, Director of CARDTS organization, Bangalore and Very Rev. Fr. Alfred J Pinto, Correspondent of the College will preside over the inaugural session.
Dr. P. K. Shajahan, Professor and Dean, Social Protection, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai will deliver the keynote address. Principal Prof. Leo Noronha, and Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Chair Person of P. G. Studies will be present on the occasion.
At the valedictory Dr. P. K. Shajahan, Professor and Dean, Social Protection, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai will deliver valedictory address. Principal, Prof. Leo Noronha, will preside over the function & Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Chair Person of P. G. Studies would be the chief guest.
Dr. P.M Mathew, Associate professor, Central University of Kerala, Prof. Chandramouli, Assistant Professor, Department of social work Mysore University will participate as resource persons at different sessions. Prof. John D’souza from Govt. First Grade College, Vittal; Dr. Sebastin K.V. from School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore and Fr. Prince C.P. from the St. Philomena College, Puttur will serve as moderators of various sessions.
The research scholars and social work students will present papers on various sub-themes of the seminar and poster making competition is also been arranged for the students participants on the occasion.
The seminar will be organized under the guidance of Mr. Prasanna Kumar, Co-ordinator of P.G. Dept. of Social Work; and Mr. Krishna is the Seminar Co-ordinator. Mr. Satwick and Ms. Sharanya are the student co-ordinators of Philosem-2015.
Faculties and students from Social work, Arts, Management, practioners and NGO personnel will participate in the seminar.
