“There is a need for scientists to our nation, ’Science Fest’ of this kind will nurture the talents of students in this competitive world”, said Mr. Kadamajalu Subhash Rai, the President of Karnataka State Vigyana Parishath D K unit, after inaugurating the intercollegiate science fest organized by the science forum of St. Phillomena college, Puttur, on February 5, 2014.
The guest of honor, Rev. Dr. Antony Prakash Monteiro, the Campus Director of the College said that scientific temper should be developed through curiosity, interest and hardwork. He also complimented the science forum for organizing the fest. The Principal, Prof. Leo Noronha, conveyed his best wishes to the programme.
Very Rev. Fr. Gerald D’ Souza, the Correspondent, in his presidential remarks said that students of science should bring a change and thereby eradicate superstitions. Prof. Chandra shekar K,the physics lecturer and convener of Science Forum, welcomed the gathering and gave introductory remarks.
