Orientation Programme on Consumer Education

DSC_1857Suraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College puttur has organized an orientation programme on consumer education in Spndana hall of the college on July 4, 2015. Senior member of the Forum Ms. Durgarchana was the resource person. In her presentation she said, ‘Securing marks is not the only objective of joining forums and associations in colleges. As a member of a forum everyone must acquire theoretical and practical knowledge, which will be useful in future life’.

The secretary of D K District Federation of Consumer Organisations Mr. Vishnu P Nayak was the chief guest. He said, ‘Consumer education enables individuals to develop the ability to become critical consumers. Through consumer education, consumers are equipped with knowledge, skills and understanding of the market. It also enables consumers to judge and make competent decisions about their financial transactions’.

The coordinator of cocurricular and extracurricular activities cell Prof. Udaya K said, ‘Today, along with curricular activities, cocurricular and extracurricular activities are also play a predominant role in higher education’.

The treasurer of D K District Federation of Consumer Organisations Mr. Jayaprakash Rao was present on this occasion. All the members of Suraksha Consumer Forum have participated in this orientation programme. The director of Suraksha Consumer Forum Prof. Dinakara Rao compered the programme.
