The Journey Begins…..
The academic year 2014-15 marked its beginning by welcoming the students of llnd year and final year on 16 June, 2014. It also had its distinction to have a new Correspondent Very Rev. Fr Alfred Pinto, a distinguished personality and an able administrator who would steer the institution in the coming years.
It was overwhelming to see the freshers on 17th June, 2014 who seemed determined to rise above all challenges and look ahead. The programme commenced after the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, Very Rev. Fr Alfred Pinto, Correspondent, Rev. Dr. Fr. Antony Prakash Monterio, the Campus Director, Prof. Leo Noronha, The Principal and the Student Welfare Officers Mrs. Bharati Rai and Prof. Ganesh Bhat.
The freshers were welcomed with open minds; open hands and open hearts by offering a bouquet to the student representatives making them feel as the integral part of the college.
The correspondent addressed the students on both the days pointing out at their challenges and opportunities in their future days.
He added, “A good individual contributes to a good family which contributes to a better society. Therefore it is in the hands of the youngsters to understand their responsibility. “
The Principal of the college, Prof. Leo Noronha while addressing the gathering spoke about the esteem and honour of the college and advised the students to uphold the legacy of this great institution. Students were asked to adhere to the rules and regulations of this college which will shape their future.
Rev. Dr. Fr. Antony Prakash Monterio, the Campus Director being the alumnus of this institution spoke about his experience and how it has helped him grow in his life. Citing the example of Michael Angello he said, “There is no substitute for hardwork. To make our life a worth one, one should be earnest and strongly motivated. He concluded by advising the students to be constructive and productive in nature.
Krithika and Keerthi from ll B.Sc, with their prayer song invoked God to shower his choicest blessings. Prof. Ganesh Bhat, Student Welfare Officer welcomed the gathering. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks. The programme was compered by Mrs. Bharati Rai, Student Welfare Officer.
