Valedictory function of National Road Safety Week

Road SafetySuraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College Puttur and Regional Transport Office of Puttur has jointly organized Valedictory function of National Road Safety Week in Prerana Seminar Hall of St Philomena College Puttur on January 19, 2015.

The resource person of this programme Mr. S. B. Surendrappa, R T O of Puttur speaking on the occasion, said “Traffic rules and regulations are devised to ensure the smooth flowing of motor vehicles on the road. The thorough knowledge of traffic rules/regulations, traffic signs and markings are very essential for the drivers and road users. The proper knowledge of these rules can reduce the number of accident and thus can establish a healthy and organized traffic system in our country.”

The president of the function Prof. Leo Noronha, Principal of the College, said “Traffic rules and regulations are not only for the driver of the vehicle, but also meant for the pedestrians, cyclists, motor-cyclists and other road users.”

Prof. Ganesh Bhat, Student Welfare Officer of the College and Mr. Janardhan, Office Superintendent, Regional Transport Office were present on this occasion. Ms. Chinmai and team with their prayer song invoked God to shower his choicest blessings. Prof. Dinakaran Rao, Director of Suraksha Consumer Forum extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Ms. Elita Monteiro proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Vinutha compered the programme.
