MSc Mathematics : Asymptotia 2k19 Valedictory function

Mangalore University level Intercollegiate Math Fest ‘Asymptotia 2k19’,which was organized by Department of Mathematics, Centre for PG Studies and Research, St Philomena College Puttur , concluded in the evening of March 6,2019 in PG Seminar Hall.

Prof. Udaya K, Dean of Science, St Philomena College Puttur, delivered the valedictory address. He said that  Mathematics is closely associated with our daily life and we can solve many real world problems using mathematics.

The Campus Director and Chairman of Centre for PG Studies of the College Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro presided over the function. He said that these type of fests will help the students to exhibit their talents and also to enhance their knowledge.

The Coordinator of the Department Prof. Ganesh Bhat, Staff coordinator Mrs. Vaishnavi C, Student coordinators Manoj Kumar K, Ramyashree K, Faculties of the Department Ms. Anusha L, Mr. Mohanraj S, Mr. Vrikshavardhana Hebber N, Mr. Karthik K were present on the occasion.

Eight teams of various colleges affiliated to Mangalore University had participated in the Fest. The overall championship of ‘Asymptotia-2k19’ was bagged by S.V.S. College, Bantwal. The runner up trophy was secured by Vivekananda College, Puttur. In Seminar, G.F.G.C Uppinangady secured the first prize, and Vivekananda College, Puttur secured the second prize. In Quiz, University College, Mangalore secured the first prize, and Vivekananda College, Puttur secured the second prize. In Poster making, S.V.S.Collge, Bantwal secured the first prize, and N.M.C. Sullia secured the second prize. In Multi tasking, St Philomena College, Puttur secured the first prize, and Vivekananda College, Puttur secured the second prize. In AV Contest, S.V.S.College, Bantwal secured the first prize, and Vivekananda College, Puttur secured the second prize.

Ms. Sharanya D welcomed the gathering and Ms. Prathibha M proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Vidyalakshmi K R compeered the program.
