Interaction Programme On Misleading Advertising And Consumer Awareness

MISLEADING ADVERTISING 13-12-14-ENG NEWSSuraksha Consumer Forum of St Philomena College Puttur has organized an interaction programme on the topic ‘Misleading Advertising and Consumer Awareness’ on 13th December, 2014 at Prerana Seminar Hall of the College. The resource person of this programme was Dr Parameshwara Bhat N., Principal of Bharathi College Mangalore. Dr Bhat while making his presentation on the topic said, “False advertising is any published claim that is deceptive or untruthful. Misleading advertising is a published claims that gives a consumer an incorrect understanding of the product they are interested in purchasing or using. The false and misleading advertising by companies of any product or service may result in the consumer suffering a financial loss, or any other form of damage to the consumer. Consumers who are victims of false or misleading advertising should contact an experienced lawyer to find out about his or her rights and actions that can be taken”.

This programme was presided over by the Principal of the College Prof. Leo Noronha. Ms. Chinmai and team with their prayer song invoked God to shower his choicest blessings. Prof. Dinakaran Rao, Director of Suraksha Consumer Forum extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Ms. Lavita Flavia D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Mr. Sandeep Rai compered the programme.
