The NSS Annual Special Camp of St Philomena College, Puttur was inaugurated on 18th Nov.2013 at D.K.Z.P. Legislators Model Hr.Pry. School, Keyyur, Puttur Taluk. Mr. 
Phakir M., Member, Zilla Panchayat, Nettanige, Mudnoor inaugurated the Special Camp. While addressing the NSS Volunteers, he stressed the role of students in rural development. He said that through the NSS, students can commit themselves to social service and thereby become useful citizens of the nation. Mr S.B.Jayarama Rai, member-Grama Panchayat, Kedambady; Mr A.K.Jayarama Rai, member – Grama Panchayat Kedambady; Mr.Prafullachandra Devadiga, President, SDMC, Keyyur School; Mr.Mohan K.N., in-charge Headmaster, D.K.Z.P. Legislators Hr. Pry. School were the Chief Guests for the programme. Prof.Leo Noronha, Principal, St Philomena College, Puttur presided over the programme and wished the participants success. NSS Officers Prof. Edwin S. D’Souza welcomed and Prof. Venkateshwari proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Vismitha Rai Compered the programme.
