The Department of PG Studies in Social Work (MSW) of St Philomena College Puttur has organized a farewell programme in Silver Jubilee Memorial Hall of the college. The Chairperson of the Center for PG Studies and Research Rev Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro blessed the outgoing students and said, Education is not a onetime affair. It is a life time course. The knowledge that is acquired in this temple of learning should be transformed into wisdom. Education is for life and for livelihood.
He added, teachers who have taught the lessons and the institution which has provided the necessary support must be remembered with due respect.
The Principal of the college Prof. Leo Noronha in his presidential address said, the college has been imparting higher education to the youth without any discrimination. Every unique skill and every unique talent that you have accumulated has the potential to make you a good citizen of this nation.
The Coordinator of the Department Prof. Prasanna kumar expressed his very best wishes to the outgoing students. On behalf of the junior students of the Department Ms. Nasrin wished all the best to the senior students. The outgoing students Mr. Satwik, Mr. Kuladeep and Mr. Ranjan shared their memorable experiences. On this occasion, students have donated some useful reference books to the Department. Formal programme was followed by entertainment programme. Ms. Shravya with her prayer song invoked God to shower his choicest blessings. Ms. Tinu welcomed the gathering. Ms. Apeksha proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. Pramitha compeered the programme.
