Environmental Awareness Rally by Eco-club

Environmental Awareness Rally  was organized  around  St.Philomena College Campus and the Puttur city,  by the departments of Botany ,Zoology and Ecoclub. The programme was initiated by nature song by IBZC students.  Mr.Mohammed Azaruddin (IIIBZC) welcomed the gathering .President of the function Prof. Leo Naronha gave  message‘To live  and let live’ , to students and  to love nature and he further  said that each organism in the environment has its own role to play. He encouraged the students to nurture the plants wherever possible. Rev.Fr. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, the Campus in Charge inaugurated the rally and he briefed about his plans regarding formation of Green Campus around the College. He requested the students to maintain cleanliness in campus by saying ‘Cleanliness is next to Godliness’. Dr. Prassanna Rai K. HOD of Botany and DR.Sandhya JRai HOD of Zoology were also present on the dais .The formal function was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr.Varun (II BZC). Ms. Fathima Afreena (IIBZC) was the master of ceremony.inaugural function of eco club

The formal programme was proceeded by environmental awareness rally from the college to the Tenkila Gowda Samudaya Bhavana where the “Nurture trees  campain” was organized by the “Western Ghats Task Force”, Karnataka Forest Department and Govt.of Karnataka . The rally was lead by Principal, Campus Director and Staff. All students with staff participated actively chanting slogans, holding display cards and banners with much enthusiasm and spirit throughout the path .Students actively participated in planting saplings with the resource person Shree Anantha Hegde Asheesara ,the president of Western Ghats Task force. Most of the Schools and colleges  of Puttur Taluk had participated in the programme. After the formal session our students actively interacted with the resource person. Students and staff received saplings of rare varieties as a token of participation.
