Post Graduate Department of Social Work (MSW) had organized 6 days Educational Visit for II year MSW students. This visit was organized to enable the students to acquaint with the current developments, operational methodology and contemporary practices in their respective fields of specialization within social work profession. Students have visited large and medium scale industries, renowned hospitals and reputed NGOs in and around Bangalore from 2nd March to 8th March, 2015.
The students specialising in Personnel Management and Industrial Relation (PM & IR) visited various industries in Bangalore such as Schneider Electric India Pvt.Ltd.; ESSILOR India Manufacturing Co. Ltd. at Doddaballapur; Gartex Insta Apparels Pvt.Ltd; Toyota Kirloskar Motors Pvt.Ltd., BIDADI; Pace Power India Pvt.Ltd; Dakshin Foundry Pvt.Ltd. Bangalore.
Medical and Psychiatric Social work (MPSW) and Community Development (CD) specializing students have visited different hospitals and voluntary organizations such as NIMHANS, Bangalore; St. Johns Medical College & Hospital, Bangalore; Sa-Mudra – NGO Bangalore; Destitute Rehabilitation Centre (Beggars’ Colony), Bangalore; Child Rights’ Trust ,Bangalore; Sangama Trust – NGO working for the welfare of sexual minorities in Bangalore; Karunashraya Trust – a Hospice centre for advanced cancer patients in Bangalore; Sumanahalli Society – an rehabilitation centre for Leprosy patients, Bangalore.
These visits have helped the students to gain useful insights in enhancing their comprehension in the field as well as increasing their experiences and also professional competence.
