FDP on ‘E-Resources for Teaching and Learning’

The Library and Information Centre of Post Graduate Studies and Research of St Philomena College Puttur organized One Day Workshop on ‘E-Resources for Teaching and Learning’ on April 12, 2019 and April 13, 2019 in PG Library.

The Chairman of the PG Centre Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro inaugurated the workshop and delivered the presidential address. He said, ‘Library is a powerful source of knowledge. The Librarians must become a constant source of inspiration to the readers. They must have the ability to attract the students and teachers. In order to become responsible teachers, we must have the in-depth knowledge about the subject. Teachers must essentially become the students throughout their life.’

The Librarian of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development Mysore, Dr Sunil M V participated as the chief guest. He said, ‘There is dearth of programmes to recognize our own available resources. In fact, UGC has been giving special attention to exploit the resources by allocating huge amount of monetary resources. In the present day, e-resources play a prominent role in teaching and research. Everyone must be able to access these resources.’

In the two technical sessions, Dr Sunil M V presented on ‘Access and Use of E-Journals for Teaching and Learning’ and ‘Database for Research and Publication’. All the Post Graduate faculties of the College have participated as the delegates in this workshop. The Librarian Mrs Noothana Kumari and Member of Library Advisory Committee Mr Praveen Prakash D’Souza coordinated the Workshop.

Ms Prathibha S G and team presented the prayer song. The Convener of Library Advisory committee Rev Fr Rithesh Rodrigues welcomed the gathering. The Librarian Mr Manohar S G proposed the vote of thanks. Ms Ivy Anjali compered the programme.
