On 6th May, 2015 the students of first MSc Physics of St. Philomena college, Centre for PG studies and Research, Puttur had organised farewell function for the second year MSc Physics students.
The President for the function was Prof. Leo Noronha, the Principal of St. Philomena College. Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, Campus Director and Chair Person, PG Studies and Dr A.P. Radhakrishna H.O.D of Physics, St.Philomena College were the guests of honour. Dr E. Deepak D’Silva, Coordinator, MSc Physics Department was also present on the occasion.
Prof. Leo Noronha, in his presidential remark said that one should not forget five things in their life that is Parents, Teachers, Friends, Institution and the Nation and also wished the students best for their life.
Rev. Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro in his address said that, first one should become good human being rather than good Physicist and suggested the junior students follow the foot print of their seniors in every good and righteous things they did and wished them very best for their bright future.
Dr A P Radhakrishna, H.O.D. of Physics, St. Philomena College wished all the students all the success in their future endeavours and encouraged them by quoting examples of successful personalities.
Dr E. Deepak D’Silva in his address opined that Knowledge can be gained by one’s own effort and not simply by writing exams and said the students to become humble, honest, hardworking and sensible for the situations and wished all the best for their future life.
The programme started Sharp at 2.00 P.M. with the opening prayer by I year M.Sc students followed by the Welcome address by Ms.Kalpashree. Second year students; Ms. Shamna, Ms. FathimathAsheeda, Mr. Jagadeeshshared their opinion about the two year post graduate life in this college campus. Mr. Anand Thomas proposed vote of thanks.
The task of master of ceremony was shared by Ms. Samatha, Ms. Rakshitha and Ms. Sowmya Bhat. Soon after formal function various games and competitions were organised for the senior students. Allthe staff members of the department were present for the programme.
