Suraksha Consumer Forum has organized an awareness programme on ‘Banker-Customer Relationship’ on February 15, 2014 in Spandana Hall. Mr. Gopalakrishna Bhatta E., the branch manager of Corporation Bank, Darbe, was the reso urce person. In his presentation he said, the general relationship between a banker and a customer arises from a contract between the two. Banker has a duty to maintain secrecy of customers’ accounts. Maintaining secrecy is not only a moral duty but bank is legally bound to keep the affairs of the customer secret. He also explained about cheques, drafts, money transfer, ATM card, credit card, E-banking, SMS banking, Mobile banking, internet banking, voice mail facility etc. Another resource person and the Assistant Manager of the Bank Mrs. Gayathri demonstrated the fake currencies of different denomenations and spoke about the techniques of detection of such currencies. The principal Prof Leo Noronha presided over the function. Ms.Swetha, Ms. Rashmi and Ms. Rashmitha performed the prayer. The director of Suraksha Consumer Forum Prof. Dinakara Rao welcomed the dignitaries and the participants. Ms. Hemavathi D. D. proposed a vote of thanks. Ms. Ashika R. compeered the programme. More than 70 members of Suraksha Consumer Forum took part in this programme.
