An interesting guest
lecture entitled “Recruitment and Selection” was delivered by Mr. Rahul Lal S, H.R. Recruiter and Coordinator, Phoenix Management Consultancy, Mangalore, on 11-09-2013.
This talk was organized by the P.G. Dept. of Social Work and the lecture was addressed to the Post Graduate students of Social Work. The programme commenced with the welcome address given by Mr. Krishna, Lecturer, and P.G. Dept of Social Work and graced by the presence of Coordinator of the M.S.W Dept. Mr. Prasanna Kumar.
All the students introduced themselves to the guest and a rapport was then established with the students and the speaker. He shared his varied experience in the field of Human Resource Management; the hurdles faced by him in the profession and the way how he overcame such obstacles and moved forward. He also spoke on the qualities wherein job seekers suppose to possess as well as by what means such qualities may possibly be acquired. The students benefited out of key practical insights on Facing Interviews and Resume writing skills provided by resource person.
In his presentation, Mr. Rahul Lal .S answered the questions of how to face interview and how to impress the interviewer by acquiring soft skills like effective communication, presentation and so on. Similarly, he stressed on the importance of well thought out resume preparing in order to grab the job opportunities. The students got a clear picture about the recruitment and selection process. The guest lecture was an enriching and learning experience for the students
The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Krishna, Lecturer, P.G. Dept of Social Work.
