A Guest Lecture On, “Advanced Ceramics Synthesis Processing & Applications’.

“The use of ceramic materials in the scientific field depends on their purity. Therefore the methods of synthesis, processing and preparation of ceramic materials used for scientific applications are different from the conventional methods followed to make ceramic utensils.  Since ceramic is hard and has a high melting point, found in aerospace applications, where it can be used as a material to resist high temperature. Exciting scientific inventions of these materials in the biomedical field is in progress due to their unique properties”, said the senior scientist Dr R Ramachandra Rao of  National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL ), Bangalore. He also focused on the various opportunities available for the students in the science field.

He was delivering a guest lecture on the topic, “Advanced ceramics – synthesis – processing and applications”, organized by the PG Department of Physics, St. Philomena College on 31 August 2013. H.O.D of the Department Dr. A P Radhakrishna introduced the guest. The faculty members of the Department, first and third semester students of the department have participated in the program.  Maithili of  I MSc proposed the vote of thanks. Pratheeksha of  II MSc compered the programme
